Two Juveniles Arrested After Car Jacking

COCOA BEACH, Fla – Cocoa Beach Police Officers arrested two juvenile males in connection with a carjacking and battery incident that occurred late Saturday afternoon.

Police are withholding the names of the juvenile because of their age, even though the BLAKE MOIA SHOW believes that children who commit adult level crimes should face adult level consequences.

The suspects were taken into custody at the beach end of S. 3rd St. following an investigation into the reported crime that happened around 3:40 p.m, according to Sergeant Jacki Hughes of the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

One suspect entered the vehicle from the passenger side after observing the owners/victims exit the vehicle and walk toward the back trunk area.

The suspect then quickly moved to the driver’s side, shifted the vehicle in gear and attempted to drive off.  The owners/victims quickly reacted and prevented the suspect from driving away by grabbing the suspect’s arm.

The second suspect then intervened and began battering the victims, police say.

“Despite sustaining minor injuries during the alteration, the victims successfully defended their property,” said Sgt. Hughes.

“Cocoa Beach Police commend the bravery and quick thinking of the victims, whose actions prevented further harm and facilitated the apprehension of the suspects.”

Anyone who may have information pertinent to this case is urged to contact the Cocoa Beach Police Department at 321-868-3251
