What we Know About the Lake County Shooting

Officials identified 28-year-old Bradley Michael Link as the Lake County Deputy who died in the line of duty.
28-Year-old Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano (Center) and 41-year-old Master Deputy Sheriff Harold Howell (Right) were wounded in the line of duty. Authorities say a family of "Sovreign Citizens" lured and ambushed Deputies to the house.
Deputy Link became trapped inside the house and was killed by the family in a heil of bullets.
The incident took place in the area of County Road 439, near Brookside Drive, north of State Road 44.

A social media post said, "A graduate of Lake Minneola High School, he served in the Army Reserves prior to being hired as a deputy sheriff by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in 2017,” the social media post by the department said.
“In October 2019, Master Deputy Link joined our agency as a deputy sheriff, where he quickly became part of our family and faithfully served our citizens with courage and zeal.”
Link is survived by his wife, Brittany, and his parents, Christi and Daniel.
Sheriff’s office officials said that Link became part of the department a young Explorer.
A verified Go Fund Me has been set up to help with funeral expenses.
Deputy 1st Class Stefano Gargano
Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano was shot in the abdomen area several times and under the arm.
Sheriff’s office officials said Gargano underwent surgery overnight and had a second surgery on Saturday afternoon.
A third surgery is scheduled for Monday, officials said. His condition was last listed as critical.

Master Deputy Harold Howell
Master Deputy Sheriff Harold Howell was hired at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in 2005. Howell has served as a K9 deputy since 2011, officials said.
Deputy Howell was shot in the in the shoulder and is listed in stable condition and recovering at the hospital.
As of Aug 9, Deputy Howell was released from the hospital and returned home to his family.

The Initial Incident:
According to Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell, the incident began around 8 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance call off Brookside Drive and were alerted to a problem at a home several doors down.
"Deputies went to that home and saw a door kicked in", Grinnell said.
“When the deputies entered the home there was a lot of gunfire,” Grinnell said.
“One of the deputies was struck. The backup deputy that was there with him was able to retreat out of the home. The first deputy was trapped inside of the home.”
The FBI were seen removing an assortment of flags and other propaganda material from the home. "An arsenal of guns and ammo was also located", a source tells the media.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Deputy Trapped Inside Home After Being Ambushed

EUSTIS, Fla -- One Lake County Deputy is killed in the line of duty tonight after being "ambushed", according to the Lake County Sheriff.
The Deputy responded to a disturbance call and when he was investigating that call, he was alerted to another disturbance in the immediate vicinity, where there was a "loud commotion". When he deputy went to the home he was immediately met with a barrage of bullets.
The deputy was somehow trapped inside the home and was killed by the suspects. SWAT officers responded and was met with more rounds of bullets. 2 more deputies were wounded. One of the deputies was wounded in the groin and stomach area.
SWAT bulldozers and demolition teams made entry into the home to retrieve their deputy, and 2 suspects were killed by law enforcement.

LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA
A Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputy is currently being flown to Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford early Saturday. 2 more deputies were being transported by ground transportation with injuries to the abdomen and arm.
The condition of these deputies is unknown.
Reports say a deputy responded to some sort of domestic violence call.
Unknown Suspect Information
The incident occurred around 8pm on Brookside Drive in Eusitis, Florida. There is no suspect information. Details from authorities have been limited for some reason.
We do not know what caused the suspect to fire upon officers.
Witnesses say there are three crime scenes. Neighborhoods are blocked off. The mobile command center is on scene.
