Volusia County Sheriff Issues Arrest Warrant for Scammer Who Never Completed Contracted Work

Authorities are looking for 36-year-old Steven James Scott, who has an active arrest warrant for Fraud and Grand Theft.

The Volusia County Sheriff, Mike Chitwood says, a couple contracted a solar power company to install solar panels on their home. The homeowners paid more than $37,000 to Scott as a down payment, who then never turned over the funds to his employer.

Authorities say, Scott lied about receiving the money and subsequently quit his job without even completing the work he promised to do. 

Police say he hasn't been heard from since.
