Melbourne Police Civilian Employee Arrested for Crimes Against Children, Molestation and Child Abuse
MELBOURNE, Fla--- July 12, 2024 --7pm
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office arrested a civilian employee of the Melbourne Police Department on Wednesday.
According to Sgt. Slover in a press release, on July 10th a criminal allegation against 36-year-old Caleb Ryan Dean came in and they forwarded the investigation to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
“Due to the nature of the complaint, we contacted the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and requested they assume the investigation, to which they agreed,” ~ Sgt. Slover, Public Information Officer.

According to newly submitted documents, Mr. Dean's bond was set at $70,000 by Judge Tesha Ballou.

Who is Caleb Ryan Dean?
Dean, according to authorities was employed in the communications center at the Melbourne Police Department since 2020.
Social media reports say that Mr. Dean is married and has children. According to the arrest documents which are protected under Masry's Law, the victim appears to be related in this case.
He is in jail tonight and charged with Sexual Battery, Lewd & Lascivious Molestation, Lewd and Lascivious Touching of Certain Minors, and Child Abuse.
This is only the recent arrest and scandal of the legendary Melbourne Police Department. This comes only after 2 days of receiving a healthy pay raise - making the Melbourne Police Department the highest paid law enforcement agency in Brevard County.
In 2016, a Melbourne officer was arrested after offering a prostitute $40.
In 2018, a Melbourne officer resigned after investigators discovered a dishonest past.
In May 2018, three internal affairs investigations led to the resignation of officer Dolci.
