TITUSVILLE, FL  --

Police made another significant arrest on only the second day of the new year.

Titusville police say they arrested 31-year-old Davonte Williams after a 90 MPH pursuit.

This marks the second police pursuit of a drug trafficker in 2 days in the northern part of the County.

Police say it all started during the midnight hours when they spotted a suspicious vehicle parked at a Bank of America in Titusville. Officers approached the suspicious vehicle because they say it was seen previously by officers loitering unattended in a high drug area in the city limits.

Police found drugs such as Marijuana and Methamphetamine but were not able to make arrests during that previous encounter.

Police were able to follow the suspicious blue car to a Bank of America and pull into a drive-through ATM space although officers did not witness any money being deposited or withdrawn.

That's when officers approached to start asking questions.

The vehicle suddenly took off.

After reaching speeds of 90 MPH through several streets, the vehicle suddenly had mechanical problems and eventually came to a stop at Fox Lake Road. Police performed a "felony stop takedown" on the driver and the passenger.

After the pair were detained, police found a large wad of cash totaling $5,204.17, 7 grams of a black rock-like substance which field tested positive for Fentanyl, 41.5 grams of Alprazolam pills, and 55 grams of Methamphetamine.

Williams is being held at The Brevard County Jail on a $111,000 bond.
