ORLANDO, FL --
The Orlando Police Department provides an update on a recent officer involved shooting in the Pine Hills area.
According to the chief of police, multiple calls came out about a possible domestic disturbance. When police arrived at the scene and noticed suspicious 26-year-old black male act erratically and noticed he had a gun in his pants.
Police say a convicted felon who had a gun in his pocket fled on foot from officers. The armed suspect was tasered but pulled the taser prongs out and pulled out a gun. At that time, police say they had no choice but to shoot.
Life saving measure were performed however the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The armed man was previously convicted for resisting arrest with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, and armed robbery.
The FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) is now investigating.
