18-Year-Old Arrested After Armed Standoff with SWAT Officers in Melbourne

Melbourne police SWAT team responded to a neighborhood in the Sunwood Park subdivision on Friday. 

In the evening hours, 9-1-1 calls were made after a teenager was firing gun shots off at a residence.  

Reports say 18-year-old Bradley Harrell was upset that he had to move, so he fired off rounds up into the air and also shot an electrical box at the residence.

An emergency SWAT team responded to de-escalate the situation and negotiators were able to secure Harrell. He was brought to the Brevard County Jail where he answered a judge on various charges. 

Harrell was charged with Firing a gun in public, use of a firearm while under the influence, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief over $1,000 and using drug paraphernalia.  He later bonded out of jail on a $5,000 bond.
