THE BREVARD COUNTY JAIL, FL  --

A Melbourne man is awaiting secured transportation to the Florida Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to armed robbery, court records show.

An arrest warrant filed by the Melbourne Police Department in December 2022 says Coleton Dean Kendall and another accomplice participated in at least 2 armed robberies at a 7-11 in West Melbourne and in Melbourne during the same night.

The warrant says the pair jumped over the counter at 7-11 and stole cash and Black N Mild style cigars from the "employees only" section of the store.

Detectives were able to link the duo to a vehicle that was used to get away from both robbery scenes.

Authorities say Coleton Kendall served as the "look-out" while displaying a firearm and blocking the doorways as his friend, Brandon Brock, committed the robbery acts.

After being interviewed by detectives, several flaws with their stories were noted and both were placed under arrest. Colton Kendall avoided trial and plead guilty.  He was sentenced to 1 year and 1 day locked inside of the Florida State Prison followed by 2 years of community supervision.

Brandon Brock is scheduled to take a plea deal on Jan. 29 at the Viera Courthouse.
