Man from New York Charged with Fraud & Check Cashing Fraud in Brevard County After Scamming Several Victims

THE BREVARD COUNTY JAIL, FL --
A suspect from New York has been arrested in Florida and charged by Brevard County Agents after authorities say he scammed 6 people in an elaborate check cashing scheme.
General Crimes Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office say they extradited 26-year-old Kieth Butler, who has an address listed at 26 Englewood Drive in Rochester New York after he managed to convince 6 people to deposit fraudulent checks into their bank accounts then steal thousands of dollars' worth of money out of those accounts.
One of the victims that Butler took advantage of was reportedly half blind and deaf, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.
Butler's bond was set at $96,000 and faces decades in prison if convicted.
