MELBOURNE, Fla -- On Wednesday. April 17 at 4am in the morning, Brevard County Sheriff's Deputies from the south Precinct attempted to pull over Abraham Garcia, 26 at the intersection of 192 and Babcock Street near downtown Melbourne.
Garcia refused to stop and spike strips were deployed. That's when Garcia fled on foot and broke into a home on Elizabeth Street in an attempt to hide from law enforcement.
The homeowner heard a glass window shattering and grabbed a gun and hid in the bedroom. That's when deputies were able to take Mr. Garcia into custody on a range of felony charges.
At first appearance, it was noted by the state prosecutor that Mr. Garcia has a very lengthy felony criminal record.
Brevard County Judge Kelly Ingram issued a 200,000$ bond. Mr. Garcia is still in jail.
