TAMPA, Fla --
Rapper "Julio Foolio", whose real name is Charles Jones II was shot and pronounced deceased, The Blake Moia Show has learned. The shooting happened in the parking lot of a hotel Sunday, the Tampa Police Department said.
According to his attorney, Jones was celebrating his birthday the night of his fatal shooting, according to footage he posted on his Instagram story. The 26-year-old rapper had 1 million followers on the platform and shared a video advertising a pool party Saturday evening. He told his followers to direct-message him for the address.
The rapper later wrote that police shut down the party and kicked everyone out.
The lawyer, Lewis Fusco wrote in a statement that Jones then relocated to a Holiday Inn, where he was reportedly ambushed in the parking lot by unknown attackers.
"Foolio" rose to fame in 2018 with his single called, "Coming Up".
The Rapper's latest album called, "Resurrection" was released in April and reportedly had over 1 million listens on Spotify. According to sources, the now dead rapper liked to rap about killing people on their birthdays. The irony here is that he was killed celebrating his birthday.
"That's karma right there", says Blake Moia on his radio show on Sunday.
"Just look at that hair. It almost defies the laws of physics. What's so fascinating about all this thug rap music anyways? All the kids worship this stuff like it's the second coming of Christ or something. I rather listen to horror movie music."
When announcing the release of his latest "hit" album in April, the rapper reported that "multiple attempts" at his life were unsuccessful.
Police in Tampa confirmed that three other people were wounded in the shooting. Police are still investigating and there are no suspects at this time.
"Julio Foolio" was 26 years old.
